Adly Mansour, the interim Egyptian president, received a holiday greeting for Eid Al-Fitr from American President Barack Obama.
According to Ahmed El-Meslimany, the media counselor to the president, this is the second greeting sent by the American President to the Egyptian interim president, the first having been the greetings on 23July, the anniversary of the Egyptian revolution of 1952.
The message comes only days after the American Senator John McCain's criticism of the June 30 revolution, describing it as a "coup." The holiday greetings point to the American Administration's interest in relations with the current Egyptian administration.
