Despite the quiet atmosphere in Mina Al-Bassal, charges of rigging are being made

Muslim Brotherhood sources in the Alexandria district of Mina Al-Bassal told Ahram Online that “a flagrant act of rigging” was taking place in the evening.

According to two sources that spoke by phone from Alexandria, the alleged rigging started after eligible voters were denied access to several voting stations.

“Voters were kept out while dinner boxes, packed with voting notes signed in favour of the ruling party’s candidates, were let into the stations,” said one source that observed the situation.

According to another source that was also watching the situation, but from the top of a building nearby a voting station, “the dinner boxes were opened, the notes were taken out, and then put straight into the ballot boxes.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is still considering its reaction, according to both sources.
