Media employees protest in front of Egypt TV headquarters, Maspero

TV and Radio union employees bring protests outside of HQ after two weeks of protesting inside, pressing to sack chairman of the union

Employees of the Egyptian Radio and TV Union started protesting in front of the union’s headquarters in the Maspero building in Cairo.

The 300 employees, who had been demonstrating inside the building for two weeks, demanded that Sami El Sherif, the head of the union, be sacked and for the head of several sectors in the union to step down.

The employees also demanded that the union revise the employees’ salaries and promotions and provide health insurance.
