Three policemen were wounded during a sit-in held at Zaqazeeq, after warning shots were fired by both army and police in the air.

Tensions between army and police escalated when the policemen staging a sit-in threw stones at the police headquarters.

Protesting policemen had gathered earlier on Tuesday demanding higher wages and medical insurance.

Demonstrators denied firing any shots in the air although army guards say policemen staging the sit-in threw stones and fired gun shots.
