Cairo University students resume protest

Ahram Online, Thursday 24 Mar 2011

Despite the military police's arrest of several students yesterday evening, Cairo University students have resumed their protest today

Students from other faculties of Cairo University joined their colleagues' sit-in in front of the College of Mass Media Thursday.

Students demand that Sami Abdel Aziz, dean of mass media, steps down because of his ties to the formerly ruling National Democratic Party.

Yesterday evening, military police stormed the university's grounds and forcibly dispersed the protest and arrested several students.

However, students resumed their protest today and insisted that they will not leave until Abdel Aziz is removed from his position.
