Egypt's interim president Adly Mansour will meet with US secretary of state John Kerry, in Cairo on Sunday.

Kerry's visit, which comes after decreases in U.S. military aid to Egypt earlier in October, is expected to tackle the future of ties between the two countries. The visit is the first by an American official since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi amidst mass popular protests on 3 July.

Egypt's official MENA news agency reported on Friday that Kerry would stay in Cairo for "several hours."

Mansour is also scheduled to meet with Jordanian Foreign Minister, Youssef Bin Alawi, and Saudi Deputy Prime Minister, Abdel-Aziz Bin Abdullah.
