Egyptian committee pushes for recognition of Libyan Council

Egyptian intellectuals form a committee whose aim is to gain recognition for the Libyan Transitional National Council

Several Egyptian and Libyan writers and intellectuals have formed a Libya solidarity committee headed by Amr Hamzawy, research director of the Carnegie Middle East Center. The committee also includes Hassan Nafaa and Fahmy Howeidy, as well as several Libyan intellectuals and opposition figures.

The formation of the committee was announced during a conference at the press syndicate on Saturday, which was attended by hundreds of Libyan intellectuals, including the poet Rashed Al-Senousy and opposition figure, Faez Gebreel.

The Libyan writer, Shokry El-Senaky, stated at the conference that the committee aims to regain recognition for the Libyan Transitional National Council.
