Mohamed Salmawy, spokesperson for the 50-Member Committee amending the 2012 Constitution, announced that the draft is ready and will be subject to final voting starting Saturday afternoon.
According to Salmawy, the draft was finalised Friday night.
A press conference will be held at 1pm where the head of the committee, Amr Moussa, will read out the final draft, which will then be voted on starting 3pm until Sunday, in a televised session, reported Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
"The constitution include 246 articles, including 42 new ones that were not listed in former Egyptian constitutions," added Salmawy.
The 50-Member Committee was tasked with amending the 2012 Constitution after it was suspended following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi.
After final voting, the draft of the amended constitution will be referred to Interim President Adly Mansour and then put to a national referendum.
