The Egyptian military said on Wednesday that a training aircraft had crashed in the Nile Delta governorate of Daqahliya, with no fatalities.
The pilot was transferred to hospital and is in a stable condition, said military spokesman Ahmed Ali.
According to Ali, the fighter jet malfunctioned, causing the crash.
A MiG-21 fighter jet crashed last October in the Upper Egyptian city of Luxor, killing one civilian.
