Libya's Prime Minister Ali Zeidan is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Friday for a high-level meeting with top officials, Libya's envoy to Cairo told Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
Libyan ambassador to Egypt Mohamed Fayez Gebril told Al-Ahram that Zeidan is to meet Egyptian interim President Adly Mansour, Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi and army chief and potential presidential candidate Field Marshal Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
Gebril told Al-Ahram that the meeting will discuss topics of high importance, including protecting the common border between both countries as well as cooperation on economic and regional affairs.
The Egyptian-Libyan border is rife with arms smuggling and both countries' armies have worked together in recent years to limit the activity.
