Two cases found H1N1 positive in Egypt's Qalyoubiya Governorate, 5 more investigated for showing symptoms

The Qalyoubiya Governorate in Egypt's Delta, which has been witnessing a recent outbreak of the H1N1 virus, recorded new cases of infection early Thursday morning.

According to news reports, "a 50-year-old worker" and "a 60-year-old housewife" were found H1N1 positive and five additional cases exhibiting H1N1 symptoms were admitted to the hospital.

According to Ministry of Health spokesperson Ahmed Kamel, 44 people in Egypt were killed by the H1N1 virus -- commonly known as "Swine flu" -- since 1 December 2013, while 342 cases were diagnosed with the virus during the same period.
