Three civilians were wounded in a bombing in Giza governorate late on Tuesday, the interior ministry and medical officials said.
A hand grenade was placed under a private car in the busy Faysal Street in Giza, causing a "limited bombing" and leaving two occupants and a passerby injured, the interior ministry said in a statement.
The bombing was the second on Tuesday. Early in the morning, a first bomb ripped through a police post in the busy Galaa Square in Giza's Dokki neighbourhood.
Two policemen and a civilian passerby were lightly wounded in that attack, security officials and medics said. It was not clear how the first bombing occurred.
Egypt has been plagued by a series of deadly bombings and shootings by militant Islamists who have mainly targeted police and troops, killing nearly 500, including some civilians.
Militant fighters say their campaign is in retaliation for a crackdown by the authorities on former president Mohamed Morsi's Islamist supporters that has seen hundreds killed and thousands of others thrown behind bars since his removal last July.
Militants have more recently extended their reach from the border Sinai Peninsula to other mainland cities, including Cairo and the Nile Delta.
Authorities blame the Muslim Brotherhood group, blacklisted as a "terrorist organisation," for the violence. The movement of the deposed president denies any links to militants and maintains its protest movement is peaceful.
