The deputy director of the East City Hospital, where the church bombings victims were taken, has said the injuries are the worst he has seen in his 30-year career, adding that all the victims had bolts and spare iron parts lodged in their bodies.
Al-Ajami, who arrived at the hospital minutes after the news broke, said the majority of victims were severely burnt and bleeding intensely.
He said that six people are currently being treated in intensive care unit, four have been moved to Cairo for further treatment, and two died in hospital.
