Al-Azhar grand imam, Vatican Pope and Bahraini king plant palm tree for climate change awareness

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has accompanied Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb and Pope Francis of the Vatican to plant a palm tree at Sakhir Palace to draw the world's attention to the climate change crisis and environmental issues.

Al-Azhar grand imam and the Pope of the Vatican are currently on a visit to Bahrain to take part in the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence".

Held on Thursday and Friday, the forum is organised under the auspices of the Bahraini monarch.

The event is attended by many eminent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries.
