'In Search of Europe' exhibition, which opened on 1 November in Berlin, is the result of six researchers' work from the Zentrum Modernen Orient (ZMO), and showcases collaborations with artists in their countries of research.

The projects produced were as diverse as their collaborations, featuring work from artists in Egypt, Mali, Germany, Algeria, France, and West Africa.

From a wide range of perspectives, the pieces tackle the question of whether or not Europe is perceived as a standard by which other areas of the world measure themselves; was it ever the role model it likes to see itself as?
