DAAL Research and Media Centre will host Professor Ahmed Abdel-Meguid on Tuesday, 22 September, at 6:00pm to deliver a lecture entitled "Foucault and the Crisis of Human Sciences: A Cognitive Critique."
The lecture traces the roots of Michel Foucault's perspective on the crisis of the human sciences, as well as discussing Foucault's conception of the relation between power and knowledge and using his "archeological" method.
Ahmed Abdel-Meguid is assistant professor of religion at Syracuse University. His PhD dissertation was entitled, “The Hermeneutics of Religious Imagination and the Meaning of Human Nature in Kant and Ibn Al-‘Arabī."
