Sherif Abdel Samad will be signing copies of his new novel, Something from the Past, at Diwan Bookstore in Zamalek from 7pm on Sunday December 26th.

The novel traces the lives of two men and one woman who endured a harsh ordeal as adolescents, the effects of which chase them throughout adulthood. The book poses questions about existence, loss and forgiveness from the perspective of depression sufferers.

Abdel Samad holds a Ph.D in American Studies and has worked at the Goethe Institute in Cairo for five years. Something from the Past is his first published work in Arabic.
