Egypt’s Supreme Council for Culture is holding a special event on Sunday evening to commemorate late Egyptian author and critic Khairy Shalaby, who passed away on 9 September.
The event will be held at the Opera Grounds of the Supreme Council for Culture in Zamalek, Cairo, starting from 6pm.
Shalaby was among Egypt’s most prominent and prolific authors, boasting over 70 published works including novels and essays. He was named Best Arab Novelist in 2003 for his novel Wekalet Atteya (Atteya's Store).
