The French Institute in Egypt will host a conference on Wednesday at 6pm to pay homage to French author and intellectual René Guénon, known also as Abdel-Waḥid Yaḥyá, who lived in Egypt during the 1930s.
The conference will see the launch of Suliman Rizki's book "René Guénon: The man and the meaning of truth," which was published in Paris.
Guénon's son and the head of the René Guénon Institute will also be present at the conference.
The works of Guénon, who lived in Egypt from the 1930s till his death in 1952, were mainly in sacred and traditional sciences, Taoism and metaphysics, in addition to a collection of books on Islamic Sufism, to which he came to a great knowledge when he met Sheikh Abdel-Raḥman Illaish El-Kabir in Egypt.
Guénon obtained Egyptian citizenship in 1949.
