Literary genre that was once banned the subject of a talk in Tunis

Tunisian prison literature was either banned or distributed on the black market before the Jasmine Revolution. A talk Friday, 23 December, in the capital Tunis will help bring works of this genre out from the dark by discussing some of the most important testimonies and literature from inside prisons.

Four novels will be featured; Borj Roumi by Samir Sassi, Embers in the Heart by Hameed Abaydeya, Diaspora by Khadika Al-Toumy and The Sighted by Lamyaa Awny.

The talk will be held at the Maison de Culture Maghrébine, in cooperation with Karem Sharif Publications and Al-Zaiyouna Center for Strategic Studies.
