Sennary Archaeological House and Bibliotheca Alexandria’s Unit of Futuristic Studies will be holding a discussion of the latest publication by the Egyptian historian Dr Sherif Younis, Nedaa’ El-Sha’b: Tarikh Naqdi lel Aydyologeya El-Nasseryah (The Call of the People: A Critical History of the Nasserite Ideology), on Sunday 17 November at 5pm.

The discussion hosts Dr Younis, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Helwan University. The book crystalises his career as a historian of ideology and a political writer. The discussion is moderated by Mohamed Al-Araby, researcher at the BA Unit of Futuristic Studies.

Younis has authored other books including Massarat Al-Thawra (Paths of the Revolution), Sayed Qotb wa Alosolya Al-Islamiya (Sayed Qotb and Islamic Fundamentalism) and Al-Zahf Al-Moqaddas: Mozaharat Al-Tanahy wa Ebadat Abdennaser (The Sacred March: The Step Down Protests and Worshipping Abdel-Nasser).
