Bibliotheca Alexandrina's Centre for Special Studies and Programmes (CSSP) is organising a lecture entitled 'Smart Grid: The Future Power System' on Thursday, 20 December 2012, by Professor Mohamed A. El-Sharkawi, Professor of Electrical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Washington, USA.

The lecture will shed light on the primary role of existing power grids by highlighting the vital links between producers of electric energy and consumers. It will also discuss the application, and future development of this technology and its impact on society.
