The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has launched a website for late President Mohamed Naguib, the first president of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to coincide with the 61st anniversary of the 23 July 1952 Revolution.
The website is part of efforts by the library to document Egypt’s modern and contemporary history. The presidential websites series also includes sites for Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El-Sadat.
The Mohamed Naguib site gives due attention to the oft-forgotten president through a digital archive including 900 rare photos, 200 documents, 675 press clippings, 23 cover photos, 23 videos and 16 audio files, in addition to a detailed biography.
