Egypt's Supreme Council for Culture (SCC) announced 2014 as the year of Nubian culture.

The SCC said it would highlight the diversity of Egyptian culture and preserve Egypt's heritage.

The decision was taken by the youth committee of the SCC in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, according to an official press release.

The SCC said that a forum of Nubian youth will be formed to supervise the cultural activities to commemorate Nubian culture.
