African Union President Felix- Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki condemned on Sunday any attempt to seize power in Guinea and called for the immediate release of Guinean President Alpha Condé.

The two officials called on the AU Peace and Security Council to urgently convene to discuss the new situation in Guinea and take the appropriate measures, the African Union said in a statement.
