A snapshot of Abdul Qadir Ibrahim speaks during the press conference on Saturday 26 October, 2024.
Ibrahim, the official in charge of the eastern Sudan file and organizations for the RSF, made the announcement in a press conference in Port Sudan, which the Sudanese army leaders have adopted as the temporary capital of the country amid fierce battles in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum.
During the presser, Ibrahim accused the RSF of working to destabilize the unity of the Sudanese people.
He also announced that several other leaders have also quit the RSF, Al-Taghyeer.
Last week, Abu Aqla Muhammad Ahmed Kikil, the commander of the RSF in Al-Jazeera State, surrendered, along with his forces and vehicles, to Brigadier General Ahmed Sha'eddin, the commander of the Butana region in the Sudanese army, according to the Qatari Al-Jazeera network.
For its part, the Sudanese army welcomed Kikil's joining with a large group of its forces and their decision to fight alongside the army "after quitting the Rapid Support Forces militia."
