Aden's international airport suspended operations Wednesday, officials said, as rebel forces approached the southern Yemeni city where President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi has taken refuge.

"Aden airport has been shut down and air traffic suspended due to the security situation," an aviation official told AFP.
