Israeli police said Thursday that a bus bombing this week in Jerusalem that wounded 20 people was a "suicide attack" by a young Hamas militant.

The bomber, a 19-year-old from Beit Jala near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, died from his wounds on Wednesday.

Hamas had previously said the man was a member of the group and that he had carried out the attack.
