BREAKING: Syrian rep to Arab League says Syria membership suspension is ' illegal '

In response to the Arab League decision to suspend Syria's membership, Syrian ambassador to the Arab League, Youssef Al-Ahmed, calls the suspension ' illegal. '

In his statement to the Syrian official news agency, SANA, he says that this spells the end of the Arab League as an effective body.
