Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal, former head of the Saudi Intelligence Agency, has suggested that his country could seek to arm itself with nuclear weapons.

During the “Gulf and the World” conference, which opened on Sunday and ends Wednesday, Al-Faisal stated that if international pressure fails to convince Israel to give up its weapons of mass destruction, Saudi Arabia will have little alternative than to go down the same path.

“We are obliged, for the protection of our people, to consider all options, including acquiring nuclear weapons,” Al-Faisal said.
