Tens of Israeli Jews stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque yards on Sunday, three days into the Jewish holiday of Passover (Pesach), reports Egypt's official news agency, MENA.

About 50 settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque yards from the wooden access ramp of Mughrabi Gate, which is controlled by Israeli occupation authorities. The settlers danced and sang at the entrance door, the nearest door of the southern chapel of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli police intensified its presence in the Jerusalem's Old City since Friday, especially around Christian and Jewish shrines, due to the Easter holiday and Passover (or Pesach, which starts on Friday and ends eight days later).

Security also deployed forces and equipment at the entrances of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Wailing Wall (Western Wall) and the Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
