The Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen intercepted on Friday morning a bomb-laden drone launched toward Saudi Arabia's southern region.
The coalition's spokesperson Turki Al Maliki said in a statement through the Saudi Press Agency that the Houthi militia launched the drone.
The attack was part of a series of such attempts, most of which were foiled before reaching their targets.
He said Houthis target various areas in the kingdom, mainly border cities, with drones and missiles.
The civil war in Yemen started late 2014, and the coalition intervened in 2015 to support Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
