The Lebanese Army General Command said that its units manged to put out wildfires that consumed about 810 feddans in various parts across Lebanon.
Supported by helicopters and in cooperation with Civil Defense units, the army has succeeded in quenching the fire that broke out in the towns of Marj Bisri, Bater, Aammatour, Hosrayel, Kour El-Hawa, Fetri/Jbeil, Bikfaya, Battle, Abu Al-Aswad, Anqon, Banafoul, Zeta, Al-Tiri, Shaqra, Yaroun and Kafr Sair, the army added in a statement on Sunday evening.
Raging wildfires have been on the increase in Lebanon over the past two weeks, ignited by a recent spell of heat wave and fast-moving wind.
