AU chairman Mahamat praises the agreement reached in Sudan
The Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, praised the agreement reached between the President of the Sudanese Supreme Council, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok on November 21, 2021 in a statement released on the same day.

He added that it is an important step towards returning to the constitutional system as stipulated in the Khartoum Agreements of August 19, 2019, which outlined the consensual democratic transition in Sudan.
The chairman praised the efforts of all political, social, civil, and military actors to deepen this approach and implement it comprehensively and effectively in an atmosphere of peace and national reconciliation.
Mahamat called on the international community to renew its commitment to solidarity with Sudan to restore peace and to prepare by democratic consensus for regular and free elections that are the only way to put an end to the institutional turmoil in the country and ensure its sustainable development.
