A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel early Wednesday, causing no damage or injuries, the Israeli military said.
"The rocket exploded in an uninhabited area in the Eshkol region," an army spokeswoman said.
The border between Gaza and Israel remains tense, with occasional flare-ups in violence, including in June, when Palestinians fired dozens of rockets into the Jewish state and Israeli warplanes carried out multiple air raids, leaving 15 Palestinians dead.
