The airstrikes destroyed  a facility in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City.

Two other airstrikes hit southwest of Gaza City and east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

Three more struck in Khan Younis in the south of the strip.

Medical sources confirmed that no injuries had been reported.

Israeli aircraft, including low-altitude surveillance aircraft, continued to fly over the skies over Gaza following the attack.

The Israeli army claimed that it had targeted four Hamas-controlled sites in Gaza.

The airstrikes on Gaza were carried shortly after meeting of the Israeli security cabinet that was convened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday evening.

Following the meeting, Netanyahu's office issued a statement announcing a series of actions against strikes against Israel from Gaza and south Lebanon.

"Israel's response, tonight and beyond, will exact a heavy price from our enemies," warned the statement.
