President Moncef Marzouki of Tunisia condemns attacks on US mission in Libya as an act of 'terrorism', describes it as an attack on his country's security

Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki denounced Wednesday the killing of US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his American co-workers in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi as a "terrorist act."

"These dirty acts of terrorism ... are also a terrible blow to Tunisia," he said in broadcast remarks. "The security of Libya is also the security of Tunisia."

The remarks came during a whirlwind visit to Tripoli where he met with the head of Libya's national assembly, Mohammed al-Megaryef, at Mitiga International Airport before returning home, an AFP photographer said.

On Tuesday, a mob angered by a US-made film deemed offensive to Islam attacked the American consulate in Benghazi, killing four American officials and shocking the world.
