The meeting, set for 3:00pm in New York (1900 GMT), was requested by Algeria and Pakistan, among others, the sources said Tuesday.
World leaders, including US President Donald Trump, sharply criticized Israel on Tuesday for attacking Qatar, which has hosted several rounds of ceasefire talks on Gaza.
Hamas stated that five people were killed in the strikes, including the son of its exiled Gaza chief, Khalil Al-Hayya. It said its top leadership, including members of its negotiating team, survived the attack.
“We confirm the enemy's failure to assassinate our brothers in the negotiating delegation,” the Palestinian resistance group said in a statement.
"The treacherous attempt by the Zionist occupation to assassinate the Hamas negotiating delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha, today is a heinous crime, a blatant aggression, and a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws," it noted.
Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani warned that his country reserves the right to respond to this blatant attack.
"We believe that today we have reached a pivotal moment. There must be a response from the entire region to such barbaric actions," he told a press conference.
