The advisory, published in coordination with the European Commission, follows military strikes conducted on 28 February 2026.

EASA stated that the ongoing military intervention and the likelihood of further retaliatory actions against assets in the region have significantly increased the risks.

The agency warned that associated military activities, including air interceptions, could pose additional threats to civilian aircraft.

“In view of the current and anticipated developments, there is a high risk to civil aviation in the affected airspace,” EASA said.

The agency stressed that it will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with the European Commission and EU Member States to assess whether the level of risk to European aircraft operators increases or decreases as the security situation evolves.

EASA advised air operators not to operate within the affected airspace at all flight levels and altitudes.

Airlines were also urged to closely monitor developments in the region and follow all relevant aeronautical publications, including updates shared through the European Information Sharing and Cooperation Platform on Conflict Zones, as well as guidance issued by their national aviation authorities.

The agency further reminded operators that existing advisories remain in force, including CZIBs recommending against operations at all flight levels in the affected airspace

The newly issued bulletin supersedes previous advisories concerning Iran and neighbouring airspace.
