An Algerian military cargo plane en route from Paris to Algiers crashed Friday in a mountainous region of southern France, rescue services said.

Around 60 firefighters were at the scene of the accident in the rural area of Saint-Germain-du-Teil, the fire service said without providing any details on the cause of the crash or the number of victims.
