Israel's prime minister has accused Iran of trying to exploit the recent instability in Egypt by sending two warships through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean.
Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet on Sunday that Israel views the Iranian move "with gravity," though he did not say whether Israel would respond.
The Iranian ships were expected to cross through the canal on Sunday or Monday on their way to Syria - Israel's enemy to the north. It was not clear if they had crossed by midday Sunday.
