Three people were killed in an earthquake that hit the city of Bushehr, Iran where a nuclear power station is located, Iranian state TV reported

Three people were killed in a powerful earthquake that struck near the city of Bushehr in southern Iran near where the country's only nuclear power station is located, Iranian state television reported on Tuesday.

There were no further details on the casualties or the extent of damage.

The Iranian Seismological Centre at the University of Tehran reported a quake of 6.1 magnitude whose epicentre was Kaki, 60 miles (90 km) south of Bushehr and which was felt in Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain. Five aftershocks struck within an hour.
