Syrian opposition coalition president to visit Egypt

Syrian opposition representative will meet with foreign minister to discuss Syria's civil war and the new visa restrictions for Syrians in Egypt

Ahmad Jarba, the newly-elected president of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, will arrive in Cairo from Saudi Arabia starting 21 July on a diplomatic trip, during which he will hold talks with the secretary-general of the League of Arab States, Nabil El-Arabi, and Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy, along with other Egyptian officials.

According to a member of the national coalition's legal committee, Haitham Al-Maleh, Jarba will focus discussion with officials on developments in Syria's ongoing civil war, as well as Egypt's recent restrictions on the entrance of Syrian citizens into Egypt.

Jarba's visit falls into the framework of his ongoing diplomatic tour of a number of Arab countries in the wake of his election as president of the national coalition on 6 July.
