Kuwait pledges $500 mn at Syria donors' conference

Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Wednesday opened a Syria donors' conference with a pledge of $500 million towards an unprecedented $6.5 billion appeal by the United Nations to aid millions of Syrians.

"I am pleased to announce at this conference the donation of $500 million to help our Syrian brothers," the emir said as he inaugurated the second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria.
