Israel's Ehud Barak on Thursday urged the army "to act swiftly" with all necessary means after Gaza combatants fired a projectile at a bus in southern Israel, critically wounding a teenager.
"Defence Minister Ehud Barak ordered the IDF (army) to act swiftly with all the necessary means and to respond to the attack on the bus at Saad Junction," a statement from his office said.
"Defence Minister Barak added that he considers Hamas to be responsible for all incidents coming from Gaza."
Barak is currently attending a conference in Los Angeles and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also out of the country, visiting Berlin and Prague.
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, one of Netanyahu's four deputies, is also overseas.
