Western-backed 'national unity' talks open in Kiev

Ukrainian leaders launched "national unity" talks in Kiev on Wednesday that are part of a Western push to defuse the crisis gripping the country.

Interim president Oleksandr Turchynov opened the meeting attended by government officials, lawmakers and former leaders -- but not pro-Moscow separatists waging an insurgency in the east.
