British police on Tuesday June 3, 2014 arrested a leading Pakistani politician Altaf Hussain on suspicion of money-laundering a move that sparked fears of violence in his home base of Karachi. Police in Britain do not name suspects until they are charged. But when asked about Hussain, the Metropolitan Police said a 60-year-old had been detained at a residence in northwest London on Tuesday morning. Detectives were searching the property. (Photo:AP)

Angry protesters in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Tuesday torched buses, rickshaws and a car following reports that MQM party Altaf Hussain had been arrested in London, officials said.

At least six buses, five auto-rickshaws and one car were destroyed, they said.
