A black bear in the US Everglades wetlands in the state of Florida caused a road accident that killed three people and injured eight over the weekend.
The accident occurred Sunday night on a highway through the Seminole Native American reservation in southern Florida.
After a woman in an SUV struck a 135 kilo (300 pound) black bear, other motorists got out of their cars to assist with the crash.
Three people assisting were killed when they were hit by another passing vehicle.
Eight people were injured in the accident and were transported by helicopter and road to nearby hospitals.
The tropical Everglades are full of exotic wildlife but local officials say a black bear road accident is rare.
