Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Andrey Kobyakov, his chief of staff, as the new prime minister, dismissing the previous prime minister, central bank head and some other ministers, the presidential press service said.
The Belarussian central bank imposed a 30 percent duty on purchases of foreign currency by companies and citizens due to a currency crisis in Russia, Belarus's main trading partner, last week.
