The European Union on Saturday denounced a rocket attack that killed at least 27 people in Ukraine's strategic Maruipol port on Saturday, warning that the escalation in fighting will hit EU-Russia relations.

The escalation "would inevitably lead to a further grave deterioration of relations between the EU and Russia," EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini said in a statement.
